Before you outsource anything in your business, there’s one more thing you need to do…
Frankly, it’s just ridiculous if you’re not automating before you outsource.
Now, you know I’m a huge fan of hiring people for your business. I do it all the time, I have several amazing people on my team, and as my business grows, my team grows with it.
But we’re always looking to make each process as efficient as possible, right?! And asking someone to do something manually that can be automated to a certain degree with an app or tool is crazy!
Think about it this way: Would you ever hire a housekeeper for your home and ask them to manually wash your socks?
Umm, no. You wouldn’t.
Now, whether you have a housekeeper or not, chances are you have a washing machine, and that’s how your socks get washed. Of course, if you did hire a housekeeper, maybe she would operate the washing machine. But there are other things he or she could do while that machine is running.
The point is, it’s a waste of time and money to hire someone to do it manually when a machine is better at it, cheaper, and more efficient in general.
This sounds obvious in that example, but I’m asking you: are you using that same filter with your business? For example, are you hiring someone to manually post for you on social media when an app could take the process 80% of the way there?
Ideally, your new hire can simply operate that tool or app, saving their time (and your money) for more important tasks.
